More drama in the Big Apple.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett have been quite close for some time.
Since 2019, Rodgers and Hackett have only been apart during the 2022 season when Hackett went to coach the Denver Broncos for one season.

Before that, he was offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers and signed on to be the Jets offensive coordinator last season which was clearly a move to appease Rodgers.
According to The Athletic, the Jets “lost confidence in [Hackett’s] ability to run the offense on his own” and are looking for a way to demote him in 2024.
The report states that Jets head coach Robert Saleh “has explored adding to the offensive staff and creating a more collaborative play-calling process that would reduce Hackett’s role.”
Rodgers reportedly has been a part of this process, but it seems likely that the only reason that Hackett is still employed by the team is because Rodgers wants him to be there.
The Jets 2023 season was obviously a complete mess with Rodgers tearing his Achilles’ on one of the season’s first plays which ended his season. The offense struggled for the majority of the season with Zach Wilson primarily under center and the Jets finished third in the AFC East with a 7-10 record.
