Vegas is about to get even crazier.
New renderings of the planned Las Vegas ballpark for the Oakland Athletics were unveiled on Tuesday, offering a glimpse into the futuristic design of the $1.5 billion project. The proposed stadium, designed to accommodate 33,000 fans, boasts a fixed-roof structure with tiered seating to ensure unobstructed views from every seat.
The innovative roof design, inspired by traditional baseball pennants, features five overlapping layers, while the outfield wall will showcase the world’s largest cable-net glass window, offering stunning views of the iconic Las Vegas Strip.

Leading the design is Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), in collaboration with HNTB, who will ensure both creativity and technical expertise are incorporated into the project. A highlight of the ballpark will be an 18,000-square-foot jumbotron, set to be the largest in Major League Baseball, surpassing the current record held by the New York Mets. Plans also include ample on-site parking, a three-acre plaza area, and shared space for various activities.
The development process will see the closure and eventual demolition of the Tropicana hotel, with construction slated to commence in April 2025.
The ballpark will occupy nine acres of the 35-acre Tropicana site, with the remaining acreage earmarked for a new hotel-casino project by Bally’s Corp. and Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. The collaborative effort aims to enhance the vibrant allure of Las Vegas, with plans for a comprehensive site layout expected to unfold in the coming months.
