Reggie Bush is set to be reunited with his 2005 Heisman Trophy.
ESPN has announced that the Heisman Trust plans to formally reinstate the trophy to the former USC running back this Wednesday.
“I’m excited to reunite with my fellow Heisman winners and to once again be part of the Heisman Trophy’s rich history. It’s an honor to rejoin the Heisman family, and I look forward to helping promote the values and goals of the organization,” Bush stated to ESPN.

Bush voluntarily returned his Heisman Trophy in 2010 following NCAA sanctions that stemmed from him receiving improper benefits during his time at USC from 2003 to 2005.
The Heisman Trust’s decision also includes giving a replica trophy back to USC. Bush will be welcomed at all future Heisman ceremonies starting in the 2024 season.
Michael Comerford, president of The Heisman Trophy Trust, expressed enthusiasm about the decision, telling ESPN, “We are delighted to welcome Reggie Bush back into the Heisman family in acknowledgment of his college football achievements. Given the significant transformations in college athletics recently, we felt this was the appropriate time to restore his trophy. We’re very pleased to have him return.”
