After Kelsey Plum’s recent Instagram post celebrating her new partnership went viral, several fans used it as an opportunity to comment on her past relationship with Darren Waller.
Plum, a WNBA star and two-time champion with the Las Vegas Aces, and Waller, a former NFL player, were married until their divorce earlier this year. Plum’s post, which featured her activities at the NASCAR Xfinity Series last weekend, attracted attention not only for her new role but also sparked remarks about Waller in the comments section.
One fan remarked, “Darren Waller has the biggest fumble of any bag ever,” while another echoed the sentiment with “DW fumbled HARD.” A third simply added, “Waller fumbled :/,” pointing to their separation.
In the post, Plum was seen speaking on stage, giving interviews, posing with NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan, and driving towards the track. She looked vibrant, dressed in a white skirt, black tank top, and a white and purple checkered jacket. “Had an amazing time yesterday celebrating my new ambassadorship with @zip_usa. Not only was I the Grand Marshal of the Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 250 NASCAR Xfinity Race at Sonoma Raceway, I also met @hailiedeegan!” Plum wrote in her caption.

She also announced a promotional giveaway with Zip USA, offering NASCAR tickets and a cash prize to those who download the Zip app.
Amidst her professional engagements, Plum is preparing to represent the United States at the Paris Olympics, along with her Las Vegas teammates A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray.
Plum and Waller had kept their relationship private, marrying on March 4, 2023, and filing for divorce in April 2024, just as the WNBA season was about to start.
On June 9, Waller announced his retirement from football, citing a severe health scare in November as a pivotal moment for reevaluating his life priorities.
As Waller steps away from football, he is likely to pursue a music career. He released a song titled “Who Knew,” about his relationship with Plum, in May. The track has received mixed reactions, with some critiques about its quality.
