Former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce and ex-New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick have emerged as two coveted free agents for TV networks seeking NFL analyst positions.
Kelce recently announced his retirement from football after an illustrious 13-year career, leaving behind a legacy of seven Pro Bowl selections and six First-team All-Pro honors. Notably, he played a pivotal role in guiding the Eagles to their first Super Bowl championship during the 2017 season.
Meanwhile, Belichick and the Patriots parted ways in January after a remarkable 24-year tenure together. Despite his storied coaching career, Belichick surprisingly found himself overlooked in the latest NFL head coach hiring cycle.
While both figures are expected to attract considerable interest from TV networks, a new report suggests that Kelce may garner more attention for an analyst role than the legendary head coach.
Speaking on the “Ross Tucker Football Podcast” as cited by Ben Axelrod of Awful Announcing, The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand indicates that Kelce is “more likely” to secure a television gig than Belichick. Marchand suggests that Kelce’s podcast endeavors with his brother and his long-term potential make him an appealing candidate for TV networks.

On the other hand, Belichick’s desire to coach again creates uncertainty around his availability for a TV role. Marchand notes that investing in Belichick for a one-year stint might deter networks, given his potential return to coaching. Additionally, Belichick’s intentions regarding his future endeavors remain unclear.
Despite his absence from coaching this year, it’s widely expected that Belichick will attract interest from teams in the next hiring cycle. At nearly 72 years old, Belichick shows no signs of slowing down, and his unparalleled coaching acumen continues to make him a highly sought-after figure in the NFL.
