Usher, who headlined the Super Bowl 58 halftime show, reportedly had spoken with fellow pop star Justin Bieber about joining him on stage to perform.
Ludacris, Lil’ Jon, and Alicia Keys all joined Usher for his performance, but Bieber was nowhere to be seen.
Bieber was at the game in a suite with his wife, Hailey Bieber.
However, the reason for Bieber’s absence from the halftime show has now been revealed. According to sources, Bieber simply “wasn’t feeling it.”
“There’s no bad blood between Usher and Justin. Justin just wasn’t up for it — he just wasn’t feeling it.”
“Usher did his best to try to persuade Bieber, sources said, and wanted to create a moment that paid tribute to their history together.”
Instead of performing, Bieber was in a private suite with his wife Hailey, Kendall Jenner, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, and his wife, Ciara.
According to TV intelligence company Samba TV, Usher’s Super Bowl 58 halftime show drew 30.1 million households.
