The owner of a Dallas nightclub, which is now under scrutiny due to assault allegations involving Chiefs star Rashee Rice, has raised doubts about the accuracy of the police’s narrative.
Recent developments reveal that law enforcement authorities are investigating allegations suggesting that Rice punched an individual, following a car crash where he faced felony charges for driving at 119 mph.
According to a police report, the “suspect,” who remains unnamed but is presumably Rice, is accused of “luring” the photographer back to the Lit Lounge & Feu Nightclub in downtown Dallas before allegedly assaulting him.
According to a police spokesperson who spoke to the Dallas Morning News, the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, reportedly displaying visible swelling on one side of his face.
However, the owner of the Lit Lounge has since released security footage, asserting that it depicts the accuser leaving without any apparent injuries.
Reza Dibaje, the nightclub owner, informed CBS that he has shared this footage with the police.
“If I got hit and beat up by somebody I would say, “Call the cops, call an ambulance!” Dibaje told CBS. “It doesn’t look like a guy that got beat somewhere”
Dibaje asserts that he briefly conversed with Rice, who spent less than half an hour in the club’s VIP area and did not place any orders for alcohol.
“At first I didn’t know who he was,” said Dibaje. ‘He was pretty nice. He was pretty calm. He didn’t even drink.”
This is certainly good news for Rice who can use it at this point.
