Rapper Travis Scott is receiving some criticism.
The popular rapper made a video with the Texas Longhorns football team which some are labeling “irresponsible.”
A recent Instagram post depicted the University of Texas football team appearing to “stampede” the camera alongside Scott.
Many felt this post was disrespectful to the memory of those who lost their lives during the Astroworld Festival when 10 people died in a crowd crush in 2021.
Travis Scott remains closely associated with the Astroworld tragedy, one of the most devastating incidents in hip-hop history, as he hosted the festival at NRG Park in Houston, Texas and was criticized for his public handling of the tragedy.
As part of his “Jack Goes Back To College” rollout, Travis Scott has collaborated with various sports companies to launch an NCAA fashion brand.
The University of Texas served as the second stop on his promotional tour.
In isolation, the video of the Longhorns storming the field appeared innocuous.
However, the context of the Astroworld tragedy was not lost on the global audience.

Viewers flooded the comment section expressing their disapproval of the post, citing its apparent lack of sensitivity and awareness.
“This guy killed people at the astroworld concert… Yet no one cares?” said one user.
“The guy who is responsible for a bunch of young people dying at his concert? Good job Texas,” another user added.
“Friendly reminder this man is responsible for several horrific deaths and has shown zero empathy,” a third user chimed in.
Scott and Live Nation, the company behind the Astroworld Festival, are still facing lawsuits from the tragedy that they are trying to get dismissed.
