On Sunday, Rajon Rondo, a former NBA point guard, was apprehended in Indiana for the unlawful possession of a firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
As reported by WDRB’s Jason Riley, local law enforcement in Jackson County, Indiana, pulled over Rondo for a traffic violation and subsequently searched his vehicle upon detecting the scent of marijuana.
According to a spokesperson for the Indiana State Police on Monday, the arresting officer discovered a firearm, a “personal use” amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in Rondo’s car.
Following the arrest, Rondo was taken to Jackson County Jail but promptly posted bail. All charges against him are currently classified as misdemeanors.

It’s important to note that Rondo is presently prohibited from carrying a firearm due to an active no-contact order against him, stemming from a 2022 incident where he allegedly brandished a gun in an altercation with the mother of his two children.
Rondo’s most recent NBA stint was during the 2021-22 season, playing for both the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 4.8 points and 4.4 assists per game. The 4-time NBA All-Star has achieved championship success, winning titles with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
