The heat is intensifying for Raiders’ head coach Josh McDaniels.
Although it’s only Week 8 in the NFL season, it appears that patience is wearing thin in the Raiders’ locker room.
As per a report from Mitchell Renz, multiple Raiders players shared their concerns about head coach Josh McDaniels, choosing to remain anonymous.
“We have to sit through film sessions and hear the coaches pin the blame on us again for the loss, so I’ll be relieved once that’s over,” one player was quoted as saying.

Another player allegedly criticized the offense’s predictable game plan, stating, “I’ve been saying it since last season. It’s tough to win when your plays are too obvious. It’s incredibly frustrating on offense when the defense consistently anticipates your moves, and that’s exactly what Chicago did.”
Additionally, there are reports of a strained relationship between McDaniels and Pro Bowl wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. Speculation is rife that the talented Clemson product may be traded before the upcoming deadline.
“From everything I’ve heard, it’s been a source of great frustration for Renfrow. He’s not only underutilized but often sidelined. It seems like there’s been a disconnect between the coach and the player for reasons we can’t quite fathom,” noted NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
This is undoubtedly a troubling situation for McDaniels. Since taking over as the Raiders’ head coach in 2022, he has managed to secure only nine wins. If he aims to avoid landing on the hot seat, he’ll need to achieve considerably more success.
It appears that a breaking point may be reached sooner rather than later.
