Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones has ignited a rivalry with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce after Kelce playfully suggested that the Chiefs played Santa Claus and gifted their AFC opponents a victory on Christmas.
In the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason, who is the center for the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce, 34, openly discussed the Chiefs’ loss to the Raiders. He acknowledged the embarrassing nature of the defeat and quipped about playing Santa Claus, providing the Raiders with an unexpected gift.

“We literally played Santa and gave them a present,” Kelce commented. “That was embarrassing. Everybody in the building knows how embarrassing that was. We got a short week so we’re going to forget about this s–t real quick.”
Jones played a pivotal role in the Raiders’ 20-14 victory by intercepting Patrick Mahomes and returning it for a touchdown. The Raiders’ defense also contributed with a fumble return for a touchdown, leaving the offense with only two field goals to secure the win.
Responding to Kelce’s remarks, Jones asserted, “[Travis Kelce] said they gave us that game – tell him to go watch that game. We took that game. Yeah, we own that.”
In the midst of the Jones vs. Kelce feud, it’s acknowledged that both perspectives hold truth. While the Chiefs may have contributed to the Raiders’ win, the Raiders deserve credit for capitalizing on critical moments during the game. The victory was marked by the Raiders seizing opportunities, including turnovers, to secure the win.
It’s worth noting that Jones’ connection with interim head coach Antonio Pierce played a significant role in his presence on the Raiders’ roster. However, Pierce’s return for the next season remains uncertain.
