Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia is once again facing backlash over his social media activity.
Last month, Garcia was banned by the WBC after a bizarre and racist rant in which he disparaged the late George Floyd.
Now, the boxer has sparked controversy again, this time over his reaction to the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.
On Friday afternoon, the Paris Olympic Committee faced criticism from Christians who accused the ceremony of mocking The Last Supper with their depiction of Dionysus. Garcia, along with other Christians, has called for a boycott of the Olympics in response.
“Hey guys, I’m going to be real, what they did at the Olympics, they all need to get canceled. You guys think this is a joke, it ain’t a joke. Christians, stand up. Boycott the Olympics,” Garcia posted.

Unfortunately, Garcia’s rant did not stop there and took a turn into transphobic territory, further alienating many of his followers.
Garcia’s behavior on social media has been increasingly erratic, and many are concerned about his mental health and public image.
His repeated controversial posts suggest that he may need professional help to address his underlying issues and to manage his public persona more effectively.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Garcia will address the backlash and whether he will seek the support he needs to stabilize his career and personal life.
