The Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame, established in 2010, honors a diverse group of athletes, coaches, and media personalities who have ties to the county. Notable inductees include Darius Walker, a former ESPN and FOX college sports broadcaster, who also had a distinguished high school football career in Gwinnett and played for Notre Dame before his time in the NFL.
Rooks, a Peachtree Ridge High School alumna in Gwinnett County, furthered her education in broadcast journalism at the University of Illinois. Post-college, she started her career at the Big Ten Network and later moved to SportsNet New York, where her popularity began to rise. Presently, she contributes to Thursday Night Football for Amazon, and Turner Sports and Bleacher Report, focusing mainly on NBA coverage.
