As of approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, Rashee Rice was not listed in the Dallas County jail records. It remains unclear whether he is suspected of any charges related to the crash, or if anyone sustained injuries in the incident.
Rice, who hails from North Richland Hills and attended Richland High School, was a standout athlete, earning a 3-star recruit status before committing to SMU.
During his time at SMU, he emerged as one of the most accomplished wide receivers in the university’s history, ranking fifth in all-time receiving yards among SMU receivers.
Selected as a second-round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023, Rice quickly found success in the NFL, forming a strong connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and contributing to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
In the Super Bowl, Rice had six catches for 39 yards as the Chiefs earned a dramatic victory in overtime over the 49ers.
