Sutton, who played in all 17 games for the Lions last season, recorded one interception, 65 tackles, one forced fumble, and six passes defended.
Prior to joining the Lions on a three-year, $33 million deal, Sutton spent six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft following a successful collegiate career at Tennessee. At the Senior Bowl, he showcased his versatility by playing both cornerback and safety, contributing four tackles in a victory for the South team.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, Sutton completed all drills except the short shuttle, which he performed at Tennessee’s Pro Day. ESPN ranked him as the 15th-best cornerback prospect in the draft, with many analysts predicting his selection in the third round, which ultimately occurred.
The Lions are urging Sutton to surrender to the authorities following the issuance of the arrest warrant.
