Praying for Ja Morant.
After sharing a series of cryptic and alarming messages on social media, Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant underwent a welfare check by police. Morant had posted a sequence of images on Wednesday featuring his family members. Many expressed love, followed by a fourth photo of himself during an interview with the caption “bye.”
These photos were quickly deleted. The posts raised concern, leading the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to dispatch law enforcement.
According to a representative from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officials visited Morant’s residence. The spokesperson stated that Morant advised the cops that he was “stepping back from social media.”
Fortunately, Morant was unharmed and informed the officers he was taking a social media hiatus.
“He is fine,” the spokesperson said.
Recently, he faced suspension from the team after being seen holding a gun for a second time in three months. His apology was criticized, and it seems that further consequences will follow pending an NBA investigation.
