The Pittsburgh Steelers have added one of the NFL’s greatest kickoff return men on a two-year contract.
This from ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
“Former Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson reached agreement on a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per sources. Patterson reunites with his former HC Arthur Smith.”
Patterson joins the Steelers after three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
The versatile 33-year-old has the most kickoff return touchdowns in NFL history with nine and also holds the record for longest kickoff return touchdown of 109 yards which he accomplished on October 27, 2013.

Patterson began his NFL career primarily as a wide receiver with the Minnesota Vikings. However, his diverse skill set has enabled him to evolve into a true triple-threat player.
Over his 11-year tenure in the league, Patterson has recorded 298 receptions, carried the ball 125 times, and tallied 273 kickoff returns, boasting an impressive average of 29.3 yards per return.
This versatility underscores his ability to contribute across multiple positions on the field, making him a valuable asset to any team he plays for.
Patterson’s value as a kick returned has also increased now with the new kickoff rules that have been approved by the NFL owners.
