The Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to part ways with a future NFL Hall of Famer.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers have released cornerback eight-time Pro Bowler Patrick Peterson.
The Steelers signed Peterson to a two-year, $14 million contract last year after he spent the previous two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

Peterson played in all 17 games for the Steelers last season and started in 16 of those as he had two interceptions, but his advanced metrics left a lot to be desired.
According to Pro Football Reference, Peterson allowed a 59.4% completion percentage when targeted and allowed a 91.5 opposing passer rating.
At 33 years old, the LSU product is in the tail end of his career, but will look to latch on with his fourth team in the NFL this offseason.
