Justin Fields on the move?
Justin Fields status as the Chicago Bears starting quarterback is obviously up in the air with the Bears holding the #1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and USC quarterback Caleb Williams being projected as the top pick in the draft.
If the Bears decide to trade Justin Fields, the Pittsburgh Steelers may very well be a landing spot.
After releasing former Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky on Monday, the Steelers will certainly be a team to keep an eye on to land another quarterback to compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting job.
The Steelers will likely explore signing free agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but a trade for Fields is likely much more appealing for them considering head coach Mike Tomlin is reportedly a “big fan” of Fields.
Adam Schefter went on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday and simply said that “Pittsburgh is gonna go out and get another quarterback” and to keep in mind that Mike Tomlin is a “big fan” of Justin Fields.
Fields had his best season as a pro in 2023, but questions still remain as to whether he is the franchise quarterback in Chicago.
Fields completed 61.4 percent of passes in 2023 and threw for 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns.
After the release of Trubisky, the Steelers currently have Pickett and Mason Rudolph on their roster at the quarterback position.
