Pittsburgh Pirates’ rising star, rookie starting pitcher Paul Skenes, and his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, recently spent a romantic evening together at a Tyler Childers concert.
The event took place at the Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pittsburgh, where Childers, a budding country music singer and songwriter, captivated a sold-out audience with a nearly two-hour performance on Sunday night at 7:30 PM EST.
Throughout the concert, both Skenes and Dunne were seen thoroughly enjoying the music, singing along to Childers’ hits.
Dunne, active on social media, took to her Snapchat to share moments from the evening, posting various snapshots that captured the fun and excitement of the night with her peers and Skenes.

This delightful outing followed a busy weekend for Skenes, who had just completed a three-game series on the road with the Pirates against the Atlanta Braves.
He is scheduled to have a day off on Monday before the team begins a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at home in PNC Park on Tuesday night.
Despite the Pirates losing to the Braves 2-1 on Saturday, Skenes delivered a commendable performance. He pitched six innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits. He also walked two batters and struck out nine, maintaining a tight score of 1-1 through his innings.
Although he didn’t secure a win or a loss for his efforts, his skill on the mound was evident.
Olivia Dunne, who has been a consistent presence at all of Skenes’ home starts this season, often shares updates and captures from the games on social media.
While Skenes is not slated to pitch in the upcoming series against the Cardinals, he is expected to start on the mound in the series opener against the NY Mets at PNC Park on July 5, 2024.
Since making his MLB debut in May 2024, Skenes has been exceptional, boasting a record of 4-0 with an ERA of 2.06, 70 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.03. Selected as the first overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates shortly after leading the LSU Tigers to a College World Series victory, Skenes has quickly made his mark in the major leagues.
In an interview highlighted by the New York Post, Skenes expressed gratitude towards Dunne for her support, especially in managing the pressures and hype associated with being a professional athlete. “It’s been great, she’s helped me in a lot of ways in terms of managing all the hype I guess, if you will, and how to manage everything that goes around being a pro athlete because she’s kinda lived it. So it’s been great,” he stated. This partnership, both personal and supportive, illustrates how Dunne’s experience and presence have been beneficial as Skenes navigates his early career in the spotlight.
