Ahead of Donald Trump’s campaign rally at Trump National Doral on Tuesday night, a rumor spread on social media that Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would be in attendance.
The speculation began when a Dolphins fan on X/Twitter posted an image purportedly showing a seat reserved for Tua in the front row, right next to Trump’s family members.
The tweet quickly garnered attention and excitement among both the Miami Dolphins fanbase and Trump’s supporters. However, it was soon revealed that the photo had been doctored. The actual seat in question was reserved for Trump’s son, Barron.

While the possibility of Tua Tagovailoa supporting Trump in the upcoming election remains open, the quarterback was not present at the rally. Throughout his NFL career, Tua has remained relatively quiet about his political views, choosing to focus on his role as a leader on the football field.
This wasn’t Tua’s first brush with Trump. The Dolphins quarterback met Trump at the White House following his national championship win with Alabama as a freshman. During the visit, Tua took a selfie with the former President and received a personal shout-out on stage.
Reflecting on Tua’s performance, Trump recounted, “On the first play of overtime, Georgia sacked Tua for a big loss. But the Crimson Tide never gave in — never even a little bit — and it just worked out. On the very next play, Tua dropped back to pass, launched the ball from near midfield — I was watching — and the entire country watched as arms lifted up, and DeVonta Smith caught that ball for the win.”
The interaction highlighted Tua’s significant moment in college football and Trump’s admiration for the young quarterback’s talent and resilience. As the rumor subsided, fans were left to speculate about Tua’s political inclinations and whether he might publicly support any candidates in the future.
