Shohei Ohtani has recently invested in a lavish mansion in California, just five months after inking the largest contract in sports history.
The property, located in La Cañada Flintridge, sits a mere 11 miles away from Dodger Stadium and cost Ohtani close to $8 million.
Although the neighborhood houses some notable personalities such as actors Topher Grace and Donald Glover, it’s notably quieter compared to other celebrity hotspots like Beverly Hills and Malibu.
This serene environment may suit Ohtani’s preference for privacy, especially since he only recently disclosed his marriage to Mamiko Tanaka.
The mansion, spanning 7,327 square feet and constructed in 2013, sits on nearly an acre of land.
Its modern exterior gives way to Midcentury-inspired interiors, featuring stone, glass, and wood elements illuminated by skylights and clerestory windows.
Among its amenities are an indoor-outdoor living room, a custom cabinetry kitchen, a family room with a fireplace, a home movie theater, gym, sauna, and basketball court.
The property boasts five bedrooms, including a primary suite with a balcony and spa tub, as well as 6.5 bathrooms.

Pocketing doors lead to a lounge area overlooking the swimming pool, spa, and lawn.
Ohtani also lucked out on the purchase, as the home was originally listed for close to $9 million last June, providing him with a substantial discount.
The property was acquired from comedian Adam Carolla, who put it up for sale following his divorce from wife Lynette.
This acquisition comes amid an ongoing investigation into Ohtani’s former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara’s gambling debts.
Mizuhara recently pleaded guilty to bank fraud and tax evasion, facing a potential prison sentence of over 30 years after embezzling $17 million from Ohtani.
Lionsgate Television is reportedly developing a scripted series based on the scandal, which will chronicle Ohtani’s journey to stardom and the revelation of Mizuhara’s betrayal earlier this year, leading to his dismissal by the Dodgers.
