As Justin Fields gears up for his first training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers, one thing is certain: he is in peak physical condition.
A shirtless photo of Fields during or after a weight room session has been circulating on social media, showcasing the 2021 first-round pick looking impressively muscular and fit.
While some are using the image for social media engagement, it’s important to note that being in top physical shape doesn’t necessarily translate to performance as an NFL quarterback. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old Fields is clearly putting in the work, which is always a positive sign.

The Steelers acquired Fields from the Chicago Bears in an offseason trade, giving up a conditional sixth-round pick. However, Pittsburgh declined Fields’ fifth-year option, meaning the former Ohio State star could become a free agent after the 2024 season.
Currently, Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year veteran’s minimum contract in free agency, is slated to be the Steelers’ starting quarterback. Despite this, Fields is determined to compete for the starting job.
“I’m definitely competing. Russ knows that… we’re competing against each other every day,” Fields said during the spring. “I definitely don’t have the mindset of just sitting all year. I’m coming in every day giving it all I got and pushing him to be his best, and he’s pushing me to be my best each and every day.”
Fields’ commitment to his physical conditioning and competitive spirit indicates that he is ready to challenge for the QB1 spot. As training camp progresses, his efforts will be closely watched by fans and coaches alike, eager to see if his hard work will pay off on the field.
