That’s when hysterics broke out. Here’s what Alvarado had to say:
“You know, I am the grizzly bear. I am the grizzly bear. Sometimes, like, I call to my people, ‘I feel like a fat boy. I’m f****** fat.'”
Alvarado is a big boy with a listed height of 6 foot 2 inches and a listed weight of 245 pounds.
It’s working for him as Alvarado was a key member of the Phillies’ bullpen in 2023 with a 1.74 ERA and 10 saves over 42 appearances.
The left-hander is expected to enter the 2024 season as one of the Phillies’ co-closers along with right-hander Jeff Hoffman.
