Howard Eskin’s reign as “The King” of Philly Sports Talk Radio may be nearing its end.
The long-time host of 94.1 WIP was banned on Wednesday from attending all Philadelphia Phillies and 76ers games for the remainder of the season, and for the entire upcoming year in the case of the 76ers, due to a harassment accusation.
Earlier in the year, Eskin was accused of harassment at Citizens Bank Park. Following this incident, Pro Football Talk reported that the Philadelphia Eagles, for whom Eskin serves as the sideline reporter, are also investigating the matter and “monitoring the situation.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer was the first to break the news of the harassment accusation against Eskin, which prompted a swift response from Audacy, the parent company of WIP. In their statement, Audacy detailed the nature of the accusation:
“We learned of an unwelcome kiss by Howard Eskin towards an Aramark employee at Citizens Bank Park,” the company said on Tuesday. “We take these matters very seriously. We immediately investigated and took action to address the matter.”

The 76ers also issued a statement, confirming that Eskin would not be permitted to cover the team throughout the season, including during training camp.
Eskin has been a prominent figure in Philadelphia sports radio since the late 1980s, shaping the landscape of sports talk in the city. Despite his influential role and long-standing presence, the gravity of the allegations has led to decisive actions from the involved organizations.
As of now, Eskin has yet to publicly comment on the situation. He is, however, expected to return to the airwaves at some point next week, where he may address the controversy and its implications for his career.
This unfolding situation marks a significant moment in Philadelphia sports media. Eskin’s legacy as a pioneering sports personality in the city is now overshadowed by these serious allegations, and the outcomes of the ongoing investigations will likely determine his future in sports broadcasting. The case underscores the importance of accountability and professional conduct, even for those with long-established careers in the industry.
