According to ESPN’s Dan Granziano, the Philadelphia Eagles actually spoke to the Chicago Bears about trading for quarterback Justin Fields but could not agree on a price.
Granziano says that before acquiring quarterback Kenny Pickett from the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Philadelphia Eagles spoke to the Bears about trading for Fields.

This is quite a surprising development as it was noted that the Eagles did have some interest earlier in the day, but it was not known that they had actually attempted to make a deal for Fields.
With Pickett’s departure from the Steelers, it is now being suspected that Fields could be headed to Pittsburgh as the Bears continue to presumably look for a trade partner.
With the departure of Pickett, Russell Wilson is currently slated to be the Steelers’ starting quarterback as he signed a contract with them on Sunday.
Pickett will definitely be the backup in Philadelphia to Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, and it is presumed that Fields would have been as well.
However, maybe this is an indicator that the Eagles have more concerns surrounding Hurts as their franchise quarterback than they are letting on.
The Bears have been very active this offseason, acquiring wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers among many other players.
With the first overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft, it is still expected that the Bears select USC quarterback Caleb Williams and end up trading Fields.
