Caitlin Clark has ignited a buzz in Indianapolis reminiscent of the excitement during Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning’s prime years with the Colts.
Manning, in particular, is thrilled about Clark’s impact not only on the city but also on the entire WNBA.
In a recent interview, Manning expressed his admiration for Clark, highlighting the pleasure of getting to know her since she was drafted and even recalling her appearance on his show last season.
Manning mentioned that he shared some contact information for the city of Indianapolis with her during their interactions.
“It’s awesome and, like I said, I really enjoyed getting to know Caitlin even more. Throughout this series she was a guest on our show, the Monday night show, last year. She’s a Chiefs fan – I forgive her for that – but she said she did grow up kind of watching me play and she’s going to love Indianapolis. I gave her all of my contacts at the airport, at St. Elmo’s… and it’s a great place for her to play, I’m looking forward to watching her,” Manning said.
It’s been a dozen years since the Indiana Fever clinched their first and only WNBA championship.
Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts have faced challenges since Manning’s departure from the city.
Residents of Indianapolis are undoubtedly eager for Caitlin Clark to bring another title to their city—perhaps even multiple championships.
Clark has already made her preseason debut with the Fever and will be making her regular season debut with them on May 14.
