Free Pete Rose!
The legendary Cincinnati Reds player is notoriously still not in the Baseball Hall of Fame due to his role betting on baseball while as a player and a manager.
Rose offered his hilarious thoughts on the ongoing sports betting saga surrounding Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and his former translator, Ippei Mizuhara.
Rose was seen in a short video saying this:
“Well, back in the 70s and 80s, I wish I had an interpreter. I’d be scot-free.”
Pete Rose is the MLB’s all-time hits leader but remains ineligible from being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame as he was banned from the MLB in 1989 for allegedly betting on baseball games.
At the time, Rose was the manager of the Cincinnati Reds.
After years of denial, Rose finally came clean about gambling on baseball in 2004.
On Monday, Ohtani spoke to the media for the first time as he denied any wrongdoing and contended that his former translator, Ippei Mizuhara, lied to him and stole money from him.
