If anyone knows about IG models, it’s Paul Pierce.
The former NBA star expressed skepticism about the New York Knicks’ playoff prospects, likening them to an Instagram model with too many filters. Speaking on the “Ticket & The Truth” podcast with Kevin Garnett, Pierce predicted the Knicks would struggle in the first round of the playoffs, particularly against teams like the Heat or Pacers.
Garnett, on the other hand, believed in the potential of the Knicks, suggesting that the NBA’s institutional backing might propel them forward. He praised players like Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and Bojan Bogdanovic.

However, Pierce felt the Knicks needed more time to develop chemistry and integrate new pieces, comparing them to an Instagram model whose appearance may not match reality upon closer inspection.
Garnett sought clarification on Pierce’s analogy, highlighting the contrast between digital representations and reality. Pierce elaborated, likening the Knicks’ appearance to that of an Instagram model wearing Fashion Nova, implying a superficial or exaggerated image.
Despite concerns about the Knicks’ playoff readiness, there was some positive news regarding Brunson’s injury. Head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that an MRI on Brunson’s knee came back clean, indicating a less severe injury than initially feared.
Currently holding the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks are in a tight race with teams like the Heat and Pacers for playoff positioning, with only two wins separating them.
