Whoops!
The New England Patriots finally managed to trade quarterback Mac Jones as they sent him over to the Jacksonville Jaguars for what is expected to be a sixth-round draft pick as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
With the Jaguars, Mac Jones will serve as back-up to starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
After drafting Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Patriots thought that they may have found their quarterback of the future as Jones made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.

However, Jones play was underwhelming to say the least in 2022 and 2023 which led the Patriots to decide to go a different direction at quarterback.
Now it’s been revealed that head coach Bill Belichick actually wanted to trade Jones following the 2022 season which would have netted the Patriots a second-round pick.
Unfortunately for the Patriots, owner Robert Kraft decided to veto that trade, and now the Patriots are left with what is reported to be a sixth-round pick in exchange for Jones.
The Patriots have the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and are reportedly hoping that LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels is still available.
