Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes couldn’t resist taking a shot at his buddy, Travis Kelce, for being “old.”
The Chiefs tight end is the second-oldest player on the team at 34 years old behind long-snapper James Winchester.
During a public appearance at the 101 Awards in Missouri, where he received the Derrick Thomas Award, 28-year-old Mahomes playfully teased Kelce about being one of the older players on the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster.

Mahomes said he’s “been impressed by how hungry [Brown] has been” and “you can tell he wants to win.”
Mahomes continued talking about recently acquired wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown who was signed by the Chiefs this offseason.
“Obviously, he wants to do good and everybody wants to do good. But you can tell he wants to be a part of something that’s special, part of greatness.”
“We’re trying to build that here and we believe that we’ve started it and we want to continue it. We still have a young team — other than Trav.”
Mahomes and Kelce will be looking to add a fourth Super Bowl championship to their mantle in 2024, and the addition of Brown from the Arizona Cardinals will give Mahomes an additional playmaker in order to help do so.
