It’s evident that Patrick Mahomes gives his seal of approval to the rapid romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
In a sneak peek of an upcoming interview on “CBS Mornings,” the Chiefs quarterback expressed admiration for his teammate’s girlfriend and raved about Swift’s friendship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Initially, Mahomes noted how everyone gave Kelce space to navigate his relationship, but things changed when Taylor became a regular presence. Mahomes acknowledged the initial jokes but emphasized that Swift is now considered part of the Chiefs Kingdom and has forged a friendship with Brittany.
“For us [teammates] there were a couple of jokes in the beginning, but now it’s just she’s part of Chiefs Kingdom now, she’s part of the team,” Mahomes said of Swift.
Mahomes commended his close friend Kelce, who served as a groomsman at Mahomes and Brittany’s wedding in March 2022, and praised the compatibility between Kelce and Swift.
“For me, it’s Travis, and he’s fortunate to be with a great girl and a great woman, and it’s been cool to interact with her and see because she’s top-tier in her profession and see how she excels and becomes that.”
Mahomes expressed his appreciation for Swift’s personality, affirming that she and Kelce make a great match. The singer and Brittany have been spotted together at Chiefs games and shared moments of affection, including a distinctive handshake at a game against the Chargers.
The Grammy-winning artist and co-owner of KC Current, Swift, has also spent time with other significant others of Chiefs players during various events. The group, including Kelce and Swift, has been seen in Kansas City during the season, even attending a Christmas pop-up bar following a Chiefs game.
Swift is expected to attend the Chiefs’ Christmas Day game against the Raiders and the New Year’s Eve matchup against the Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium.
