Patrick and Brittany Mahomes had a blast at an NWSL game on Saturday, where they helped inaugurate the new CPKC Stadium in style as part owners of the Kansas City Current.
Their excitement extended beyond the game itself, as they expressed hopes of having their friend Taylor Swift join them for a match in the future.
In an interview on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” before the thrilling 5-4 victory over the Portland Thorns, Patrick Mahomes shared his enthusiasm for having Swift attend a Kansas City Current game this season.
“We might get her here at some point,” he said, acknowledging her busy schedule. “She loves supporting Kansas City just like we do, and I’m sure Brittany can nudge her and get her here pretty easily.” via B/R.

Brittany Mahomes embraced the challenge, affirming, “That’s definitely on me. I’ll work on it.”
But their involvement didn’t stop at discussing Swift’s potential attendance. They also fired up the crowd for the stadium’s historic opening game. CPKC Stadium, the first-ever soccer venue built specifically for a women’s team, boasts a capacity of 11,500 and sold out for its inaugural match.
Addressing the fans before kickoff, Brittany expressed gratitude for their support and emphasized the significance of the occasion. “This is history, this is incredible,” she exclaimed, acknowledging the crowd’s presence and enthusiasm.
Patrick then led a spirited chant of “KC, baby!” followed by a rallying cry of “Let’s go!” As the game unfolded, the Mahomes duo, captured by ESPN cameras, cheered fervently for the Current, who secured a memorable victory with goals from Vanessa DiBernardo, Bia Zaneratto, Kristen Hamilton, and Alex Pfeiffer.
Their infectious energy and unwavering support undoubtedly added to the festive atmosphere, underscoring their commitment to the success and growth of women’s soccer in Kansas City.
