The long-standing legal battle between Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Alexandra Davis has finally come to a resolution.
Alexandra Davis, 27, had claimed that Jones was her biological father and had been absent from her life. However, the case has now been settled, bringing an end to the legal proceedings.
The settlement was reached in a Texas court on Tuesday, abruptly halting the ongoing legal battle. The dispute originated from a 2022 lawsuit where Alexandra alleged that she was conceived during a mid-1990s relationship between Jones and her mother, Cynthia Davis.
Jones had countersued, claiming a breach of contract regarding a previous settlement he had reached with Cynthia in 1998, two years after Alexandra’s birth. This prior agreement was meant to resolve issues related to paternity and support.

Judge Robert W. Schroeder III ruled that all cases from both parties were dropped ‘with prejudice,’ meaning the litigation is permanently dismissed. “I regret that it came to this, and I’m glad that it is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” Jones said after Tuesday’s proceedings, as reported by NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
Both Alexandra and Cynthia Davis expressed satisfaction with the outcome, according to WFAA Dallas. Court records revealed that Jones had paid over $3 million to Alexandra through trusts since her early childhood, providing financial support despite the legal conflicts.
The lawsuit had also impacted Jones’s plans for the Cowboys.
The Jerry Jones press conference, which was supposed to kick off activities at their training camp, had to be rescheduled due to the hearing. Nevertheless, the team’s first practice is set to proceed as planned on Thursday, July 25.
This resolution marks the end of a contentious chapter for Jones and the Davis family, allowing all parties to move forward.
For Jones, it means he can now refocus on his responsibilities with the Dallas Cowboys, free from the distractions of this legal battle.
