Sending Pat McAfee to Ireland to host a live radio show turned out to be a risky move that quickly spiraled out of control.
McAfee is in Ireland ahead of Saturday’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, where Florida State and Georgia Tech will face off in a game televised by ESPN. To capture the excitement of the event, ESPN dispatched its “GameDay” crew to broadcast live from Dublin, and McAfee wasted no time embracing the local culture.
On Friday, during his radio show, McAfee candidly admitted that he had already been drinking beers before the show started. As the broadcast continued, he didn’t hesitate to indulge further, downing pints of beer live on air.
In true McAfee fashion, he boldly declared that he planned to get “s–tfaced” during the show—and he certainly delivered on that promise. At one point, he even openly admitted to his listeners that he was indeed “sh-tfaced,” acknowledging the inevitable outcome of hosting a show in Ireland with his signature bravado.

Despite the lively atmosphere, it became clear that McAfee had pushed his limits, as he eventually decided to cut himself off from the alcohol. The wild antics have left fans wondering how McAfee will manage to pull off his duties for “GameDay” on Saturday.
One thing’s for sure: this trip to Ireland has been one heck of a party for Pat McAfee.
