During this past Thursday’s State of the Union address, President Joe Biden made a statement that led many to believe he was referring to Lincoln Riley, the head coach of USC’s football team, as deceased.
“Lincoln….Lincoln Riley…an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal,” Biden said. “That’s right, but how many of the thousands of people being killed by legals — to her parents?”
It later came to light that Biden had misspoken while at the podium. He was actually trying to reference Laken Riley, a Georgia student who was allegedly murdered by a Venezuelan migrant.
On the Friday episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” host Pat McAfee admitted to being taken aback by this slip-up. For a moment, he expressed concern about Lincoln Riley’s well-being.
“I saw somebody with a microphone last night addressing the entire nation. He [Biden] made an announcement that Lincoln Riley was dead,” McAfee said. “I get on my phone after this event that we’re at and it’s Lincoln Riley and he’s trending all over. I click – ‘he’s dead.’ Lincoln Riley’s dead? Wait a second, who said that? The president? Lincoln Riley’s dead? How is this happening?’ That’s a world that just does stuff.”

McAfee also criticized those who defended Biden on social media.
“Isn’t that world just the epitome of ‘this is just how it works’? It is, right?”
Predictably, McAfee’s remarks went viral on Friday night.
