Pablo Sandoval, affectionately known as “Kung Fu Panda,” is eyeing an MLB comeback in 2024, and he might just find himself back with a familiar team. Recently, he was granted a Spring Training opportunity with the San Francisco Giants, the team where he made a name for himself.
Sandoval’s return to the diamond has left fans astonished due to his remarkable transformation. This transformation was the driving force behind his addition to the club’s roster.
Signed to a minor league deal this offseason, Sandoval is determined to make a comeback to the big leagues after his last MLB appearance in the 2021 season with Atlanta.

Why did the Giants take a chance on the 37-year-old veteran? Farhan Zaidi, the president of baseball operations, shed light on the decision, jokingly mentioning that Sandoval’s workout videos were taking up all the space on his phone.
Expressing his determination, Sandoval stated, “I came here to fight for a spot,” upon signing with the Giants.
Sandoval’s hard work and dedication to his comeback have been evident in his physical transformation, a stark contrast to his previous 270-pound stature seen in his last MLB appearance.
During his tenure with the Giants, Sandoval became a beloved figure among fans, contributing to the team’s World Series victories. Over 11 seasons with the club, he amassed impressive statistics, batting .285 with 135 home runs and 569 runs batted in.
With his new physique, Sandoval is eager to showcase his skills once again in the Bay Area.
