Olivia Dunne capped off her college gymnastics career by leading the LSU Tigers to a national championship victory in women’s gymnastics.
This triumph marks the first national title for the LSU women’s gymnastics team, adding to a stellar year for LSU Athletics, which also saw the baseball and women’s basketball teams securing NCAA championships.
The championship victory is the 52nd in the history of LSU Athletics. To celebrate, LSU Gymnastics has scheduled a welcome event for the NCAA Champions at 12:30 p.m. CT Sunday at the Gymnastics Training Facility, with further celebrations to be announced later.
Dunne, who is among the most popular athletes in college sports, was celebrated on social media by her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes. Skenes, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft and helped the LSU baseball team to a national championship, shared LSU’s national title celebration post in tribute to Dunne.
