Dunne and Dunne.
The LSU gymnastics sensation, widely recognized as the highest-earning female athlete in the NCAA, unveiled a seemingly fresh addition to her vault routine in a video shared on her Instagram account last Friday.
“Hey, seniors can experiment with new skills too,” Dunne, who boasts an impressive following of 4.4 million Instagram followers, captioned the post.
At just 20 years old, Dunne has ascended to stardom in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) realm, leveraging the NCAA’s recent allowance for athletes to profit from their image and likeness. Reportedly earning a seven-figure income, she is set to embark on her fourth and final season with LSU come spring.
Dunne’s specialty lies in the uneven bars, where she clinched All-American honors during her freshman season. Last year, she consistently achieved an impressive average score of 9.788 on the uneven bars, with a season-high of 9.850 at the SEC Championships.
In addition to her gymnastics prowess, Dunne recently ventured into the world of modeling, making her debut in the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. She graced the pages in a range of captivating beachside looks.
Speaking about her Sports Illustrated photos, Dunne conveyed her desire for people to understand that one can thrive in both the athletic and modeling spheres simultaneously. She emphasized the possibility of being an athlete, a student, a model, and a strong, independent woman all at once.
Dunne is also known for her relationship with acclaimed Pirates prospect Paul Skenes, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 MLB draft. She was one of just two athletes featured in the SI photoshoot, alongside LSU basketball star Angel Reese.
“As a female athlete, I hope I can draw attention to the greatness of college sports and the tremendous effort required in college athletics,” Dunne expressed in an interview.
She highlighted the often-unseen behind-the-scenes dedication and hard work that athletes invest.
Furthermore, she aimed to shed light on the world of college gymnastics, bringing in an audience and showcasing the incredible talents of gymnasts beyond just the Olympic spectacle.
