Olivia Culpo found herself once again defending the choices she made for her wedding to San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey, which took place late last month.
Despite the joyous occasion, Culpo faced renewed criticism from social media influencers who accused her of having “pick-me girl vibes.”
The latest critique came from influencer Jessica Weslie Arena, who posted a TikTok video on Tuesday expressing her discomfort after reading Culpo’s interview with Vogue.
In the interview, Culpo detailed her makeup choices for the wedding, revealing that she opted not to wear mascara, lip liner, or eyebrow makeup. “I never felt more beautiful than when I was in my ceremony dress and under my veil – I really wanted the simplicity of each component to harmonize perfectly,” Culpo told Vogue.
Arena suggested that Vogue should have noted the unusual nature of Culpo’s makeup choices, describing the lack of typical cosmetics as giving off “weird” vibes. However, Culpo did not take the criticism lying down. She fired back in the comments section, stating, “It was an interview… they asked me what my makeup was…”
This was not the first time Culpo faced criticism over her wedding choices. Previously, fashion influencer Kennedy Bingham, known online as Gown Eyed Girl, criticized Culpo’s wedding dress, a long-sleeved ballgown by Dolce & Gabbana. Bingham described the dress as “modest” and claimed it had “no personality,” stating, “I’ve been a bridal creator for four years now, and I have never said this before, but I do not like this wedding dress.”

Christian McCaffrey came to his wife’s defense, responding to Bingham’s post by calling it “evil.” He commented on Instagram, “What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does.”
Bingham’s critique, despite acknowledging the dress as “simple” and “elegant,” was harsh. She captioned her video, “From Miss Universe to Miss Pick Me, Olivia Culpo is earning her crown.”
Culpo, maintaining her poise, responded to Bingham’s video on TikTok, calling her a “bizarre human.”
Despite the criticisms, Culpo and McCaffrey remain focused on their happiness and future together. The couple’s public support for each other amidst social media scrutiny underscores their strong bond and commitment to rising above negative commentary.
