During the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City forward Bismack Biyombo appeared to collapse while standing in front of the Thunder bench.
As the team gathered during a timeout, Biyombo fell to the ground, prompting concern from both teammates and staff. Despite the arrival of a wheelchair onto the court, it was ultimately unnecessary as Biyombo was assisted off the court and directed towards the locker room.
Following the incident, Thunder coach Mark Daigneault reassured reporters that Biyombo’s condition was not serious, attributing the episode to a fainting spell.

“He’s fine. He just fainted, basically,” Daigneault stated. “He was in the locker room at halftime laughing and joking.”
Despite this reassurance, Biyombo did not return to the game.
The incident occurred during Biyombo’s fifth game with the Thunder, having joined the team on February 10th. As a veteran of 13 years in the NBA, his sudden collapse raised concerns but ultimately resulted in relief as his condition was deemed non-threatening.
