Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has yet to hit the practice field with his new team since signing in May, remaining on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list.
This extended absence has left some fans increasingly frustrated, and it’s clear that Beckham is feeling the strain as well.
On Tuesday, a Miami fan openly questioned whether Beckham was genuinely injured, hinting that the star receiver might be “pulling off another Will Fuller.” Fuller, who signed a $10 million deal with the Dolphins in 2021, played just a handful of games before undergoing season-ending surgery and ultimately fading from the NFL spotlight.
Typically, such comments might go unnoticed, but this time, Beckham decided to fire back. He took to X to address the fan, suggesting that the criticism was more about generating attention than seeking the truth.
“Just gotta realize I get more likes in click with my name in a story than without it… ppl really be bored asf…,” Beckham wrote on X. “Name one person who wants to work from 7am/7pm and not get to do the one thing they love. Plz make that make sense. Get the facts straight, mind ya biz.”
When another fan chimed in, suggesting that Dolphins fans have been “used before” and just want some clarity, Beckham doubled down, asserting that the team is fully aware of his situation, and that’s all that really matters.
“Oh nice! Yea I think just keep posting bs for clicks and it should definitely make the answers appear?” Beckham responded sarcastically. “Anyways everybody over here kno what’s goin on (the team and ppl in this building) time will tell what and how the rest of the story goes. Thanks for ur concerns.”
Beckham’s contract with the Dolphins is a one-year deal, and while it’s not particularly lucrative, it’s evident that he’s not trying to exploit the team for financial gain. However, the lack of detailed information about what’s keeping Beckham off the field has led to widespread speculation, with fans and critics alike drawing their own conclusions.
Despite Beckham and the team downplaying any serious issues, the mystery surrounding his status continues to fuel debate.
