Bruce Fromong has spoken.
Fromong, one of the individuals victimized during the 2007 robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room for which O.J. Simpson was imprisoned, has some surprising sentiments regarding Simpson’s passing.
Simpson, the former NFL star who was famously acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ron Goldman, died at the age of 76 on Thursday.
The announcement of his passing came on Thursday morning, with the family revealing that he succumbed to prostate cancer on Wednesday.
Fromong expressed to TMZ Sports that it’s a “sad time right now for family and friends of O.J.’s, and for those who really knew him.”
“He tells us O.J. was a good father and a good man, and that he ‘will be sorely missed by many,'” TMZ wrote. “Fromong not only forgave O.J. — he befriended him too.”
On September 13, 2007, O.J. Simpson, accompanied by a group of armed individuals, forcibly entered Bruce Fromong’s hotel room and stole a collection of sports memorabilia, some of which Simpson alleged had been stolen from him.

The incident resulted in Simpson’s conviction on October 3, 2008, precisely 13 years after his acquittal in the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman murder trial.
Following his conviction, the Pro Football Hall of Famer was sentenced to 33 years in prison for the robbery, with the opportunity for parole after nine years.
In 2017, Simpson was granted parole after Bruce Fromong testified on his behalf at a parole hearing, leading to his release from prison.
“I don’t feel that he’s a threat to anyone out there,” Fromong said. “He’s a good man. I know that he does a lot for other people, and I feel that nine and a half to 33 years was way too long, and I feel that it’s time to give him a second chance.”
