Some fans spend a lifetime yearning to charge onto a football field.
Caleb Williams found himself on the receiving end of some clever taunting after a lackluster performance against Notre Dame on Saturday night.
The Fighting Irish decisively defeated the USC Trojans with a score of 48-20. Williams, who was vying for a second consecutive Heisman Trophy, may now face an uphill battle as he threw three interceptions during the game and slipped behind in the Heisman race.

The defeat was a gut-wrenching experience for the reigning Heisman holder, even though the Trojans maintain a 6-1 record. To make matters worse, his night took a turn for the worse shortly after the loss when an audacious fan managed to breach security and approach the quarterback to taunt him.
The unidentified Notre Dame supporter shouted, “Show us those nails now, buddy!” as he invaded the field, donning a sleeveless shirt.
For those unfamiliar with Caleb’s nail-painting tradition, he has a history of adorning them with bold messages before games. However, he recently pledged to tone down the messages after discussions with his coaches.
When the two teams clashed in November, his nail message was anything but subtle. The unnamed fan, it seems, relished the opportunity for a bit of payback.
Credit is due to Williams for refraining from tackling the Notre Dame fan, although he certainly had a compelling reason to do so.
