In the previous season, the Eagles clinched the NFC East title for the second time in four years. During the playoffs, they defeated the New York Giants 38-7 and the San Francisco 49ers 31-7.
However, their Super Bowl dreams were shattered as they squandered a double-digit lead in the second half and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Their young quarterback, Hurts, who is 24 years old, had a remarkable season and was even considered an MVP candidate.
