The San Francisco 49ers celebrated a significant 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but the post-game festivities took an unexpected turn during an interview on the field.
While NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark interviewed the game’s stars—quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle, and running back Isaac Guerendo—49ers defensive end Nick Bosa made a brief and surprising appearance.
Though Bosa wasn’t selected as one of the players of the game, he approached the group during Purdy’s segment of the interview, donning a “Make America Great Again” hat. The white hat featured gold lettering, a different take on the classic red MAGA cap, which seemed to momentarily catch Stark and the players off guard.
As Bosa pointed to his hat, Stark and the players exchanged smiles and chuckles, with Stark managing a brief acknowledgment, “Alright, Nick Bosa with a message there.”
She then seamlessly shifted focus back to the interview, leaving Bosa’s unspoken statement in the air as the interview wrapped up.

When reporters asked Bosa about the hat at his press conference afterward, he wore a different hat and declined to discuss his choice in depth. “I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,” Bosa remarked, hinting at the upcoming election season.
Bosa’s hat choice stirred conversations among fans, as his political stance contrasts with the diverse views within San Francisco’s fanbase.
However, given his standout performance on the field, many 49ers fans appear willing to set aside his political statements, focusing instead on his contributions to the team’s defensive prowess.
As long as Bosa continues to pressure quarterbacks and bolster the 49ers’ success, his off-field choices may remain a secondary concern for fans.
