In the past, the distinctions between May and June were less marked, but today, June stands out as Pride Month.
This period is now widely recognized by individuals, governments, organizations, and sports leagues to honor and support the LGBTQ+ community.
The impact of Pride Month is evident across major American sports leagues, which typically incorporate rainbow colors in their signage during this time.
The NFL is actively participating, with several teams expressing their support on social media. For instance, the Washington Commanders have embraced the theme of love for Pride Month, while teams like the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles have adapted their logos to reflect pride colors.
However, not all teams have participated.

A report from OutKick highlighted that teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Atlanta Falcons did not alter their social media in acknowledgment of Pride Month over the past weekend.
Conversely, all teams from the AFC East and NFC West have shown some form of support for the month.
The absence of acknowledgment from the Kansas City Chiefs is particularly notable given the recent controversy surrounding their kicker, Harrison Butker.
Butker faced significant backlash after openly criticizing the LGBTQ+ community and denouncing Pride Month as sinful. The potential for a visible shift in the Chiefs’ social media to support Pride Month might have been seen as particularly contentious in light of Butker’s statements.
