NFL star wide receiver Davante Adams has stirred the pot by suggesting that legendary quarterback Tom Brady might come out of retirement for a second time.
Adams, a key player for the Las Vegas Raiders, expressed his hope that the seven-time Super Bowl champion would consider joining the Raiders if his arm is still in good shape.
Adams is set to enter his third season with the Raiders this fall.
He previously spent eight seasons with Aaron Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers and recently voiced a desire to reunite with Rodgers, now the quarterback for the New York Jets. Despite his wish to play again with Rodgers, Adams remains open to the intriguing possibility of teaming up with Brady, 46, for the first time in his career.
Brady is currently awaiting approval from the league on his bid to become a minority shareholder (10 percent) of the Raiders, a deal he struck with Raiders owner Mark Davis in May.
When asked about the possibility of convincing Brady to unretire and join the Raiders during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay,” Adams enthusiastically responded, “Hell, yes. I don’t care. 58. Tom knows how I feel about him.”
Adams added, “I think I’d be the first person to play with both Tom and Aaron, so that would be pretty cool. He’s getting older, but he’s still got to be able to throw it better than half these dudes in the league.”

Adams and Brady reportedly keep in touch, largely due to Brady’s potential future involvement with the Raiders’ ownership. However, Brady is currently preparing for his rookie season in the broadcasting booth with Fox Sports, where he will serve as an NFL analyst starting this fall.
Meanwhile, Brady recently enjoyed a “low-key night out” with his 16-year-old son, Jack, at a sushi hotspot in New York City. This personal time contrasts sharply with a controversy from his playing days. Brady was accused of disrespect by a former NFL star who offered to play with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Antonio Brown’s dramatic mid-game departure against the Jets in 2022.
Speaking on “The Bubba Dub Show” on The Volume, the former wide receiver, now 50, recounted, “Tom Brady ignored me, bro. The year that AB [Brown] went crazy on him, I was talking about coming back, and at that point in time, it was the end of the season. They just needed somebody to fill some holes with AB leaving the receiver position.”
The veteran player continued, “I reached out to him [Brady] through Randy [Moss] and a couple of other people, just to come in and play third down and red zone situations. You know this dude really ignored me, bro? It just shows you the lack of respect there, but then when they get in front of you, they want to act like they respect you.”
As Brady transitions to his new role as an NFL analyst, the possibility of a return to the field remains speculative but tantalizing for fans and players like Adams.
Whether or not Brady decides to don a Raiders jersey, his influence on and off the field continues to generate significant buzz and anticipation.
