Being a public figure isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
NFL Network reporter Jane Slater shared the heartbreaking news on Friday that her mother had passed away after a battle with cancer.
Taking to social media, Slater expressed her grief, revealing that her mother had passed away at home surrounded by her family.”I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to articulate the end,” Slater wrote in her post. “She fought so hard and did not go peacefully. I am not sure I’ll ever get over these last 3 brutal days but I’m grateful to have been there for it all. The good the bad and with my sister and father at home providing the care.”

Slater also shared a touching video of her parents, illustrating their unwavering love and support for each other until the very end.
“In the end, it’s about who will be there at the end. 43 years of marriage after 11 weeks of dating. As mom slips away, I feel so grateful that these two chose each other. He was there for every battle these past 15 months and has rarely left her side as she loses the war.”
In response to Slater’s heartbreaking announcement, countless NFL fans offered their love and support to the Slater family.
“Sending so much love and prayers to you and your sweet family right now,” one person wrote.
Another expressed their condolences, saying, “I’m so sorry to see this news. Sending strength and love to your family.”
