The NFL revealed its 2024 regular season schedule on Wednesday, allowing fans of all 32 teams to discover when and where their favorite teams would be playing this season.
Amid the excitement surrounding the league-wide schedule release, some fans floated a conspiracy theory regarding the sequencing of games this season.
With Taylor Swift using NFL stadiums for her Eras Tour and the Kansas City Chiefs welcoming her to their games, some speculated that the league was tailoring its schedule around hers. The NFL did shockingly admit to her factoring into the schedule creation, now they are clarifying things.
One NFL reporter has debunked this theory.
The league told Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein that the impact of Swift on the 2024 schedule is “overstated.”

Epstein noted that while the league did take Swift’s tour dates into consideration from a logistics perspective—such as not scheduling games at venues on days she is slated to perform—it did not factor her tour into the placement of specific games involving the Chiefs.
For instance, some fans noted that the Chiefs are visiting the Buffalo Bills on November 17, just as Swift finishes up three consecutive nights in nearby Toronto. While this scheduling quirk allows her to attend the game without much hassle, it is not something the league explicitly planned.
Swift’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has generated additional revenue and interest in the NFL, benefiting the league despite its already massive presence in American culture.
Swift’s impact on the league is likely to continue this season as her relationship with Kelce develops. It remains to be seen if she can attend as many games with her tour in full swing during the middle of the season.
